About
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” – Pablo Picasso
Andrea has been creating jewelry for almost two decades now. She “creates” jewelry because no one dare says that she merely “makes” it after seeing her work.
Each piece has an air of classic sophistication and timelessness, while being 100 percent original.
Constantly sketching, Andrea’s inspiration for her jewelry art is found everywhere, be it from the pattern of a man‘s tie to the grill of a car. The shapes of objects that we find typical hold a different meaning for her thus giving her new ideas for fresh and different creations. The end result is original handcrafted jewelry.
As a Precious Metal Clay certified artist, I am pleased to offer metal clay workshops to help you realize your dreams in silver. Call for more information.
Precious Metal Clay, PMC, is an exciting material developed and patented in the 1990s by Mitsubishi Materials of Japan. Microscopic particles of silver are mixed with a moist binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. Using simple tools, objects are easily given shape, texture, and character. After air-drying, the objects are heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the particles fuse together to make a dense, fully metallic object. Fired PMC work can be polished, soldered, enameled, and enjoyed like any other silver item.
